marianloveshorses Help for Neglected Horses 6 Yesterday, 5:46 PM EST by marianloveshorses

I am working with a man here in Tennessee that has 30-40 horses needing a home. These Quarter Horses are out of the Doc Bar and Hollywood bloodlines and some are registered. Some are rideable others not. This man is very sick and was paying people to feed for him. They didn't feed all of the horses and those that went without are in very poor condition. My friend and I hae taken over the feeding and care but need help. The owner has agreed to let us adopt out these horses for a nominal fee. Anything you can do would be greatly appreciated.

renelynn hard to catch pony 2 Dec 10 2009, 6:30 AM EST by marianloveshorses

I have had our pony for about a month and she won't let us catch her unless we have food. She was approachable at the place we got her from but once we got her home, she turns away when we walk up to her. I think she may have been abused at some point b/c she flinches and raises her head when pet. She's in a pasture with our gelding and even though he comes to us, she won't. Once we do catch her, usually with grain, she'll behave nicely. We've ridden her on a trail ride once and she did quite well. Once she's turned out, she's like a wild horse and won't let us get close. Any suggestions?

Rdoscher NECK FRACTURE 12 Dec 6 2009, 11:09 PM EST by Nancyhudson

Had a bad fall from my horse two weeks ago. Fractured and dislocated C4/C5. Surgery was successful with no loss of function. Dr say not to ride again - don't thing that's going to happen. Any success stories of comebacks from injuries of this type and suggestions for protective riding gear would be very appreciated. Thanks

Richard
